Spring Break 2013

This was a fun yet sad trip for us as my Grandfather passed away(he will be greatly missed) during our trip. We decided to get out and see some sites while we were close to them.  Our trip started on Sunday and we drove up to Virgina  our first stop was at  Manassas Virginia to see the

Manassas National Battlefield
March 31

This is where Gen. Thomas J. Jackson got his nickname of Stonewall Jackson.  This is also know as the First battle of Bull Run.

After this we arrived at our hotel in Arlington VA
April 1st

Oh my what a fun (not) morning... We got up and took the hotel shuttle to the metro station. We get our tickets and ride the metro  only to have to get off early as  kiddo got sick and thew up on me and on  another ladies shoes...(thats what she get for being bossy)  so  after walking  about  7 blocks  we get to the Washington Mall.  First stop was the Lincoln Memorial.  It was larger then I thought it was :)
our view from the hotel  closest building is the Pentagon and the lighted one is the Lincoln Memorial.
